What is so great about the iPhone 3G?

There have been reports online about how unspectacular the 3G iPhone is.  AT&T's 3G network needs a lot of work.  It has limited coverage although it is growing all the time.

So what is the big deal?  It's the iPhone App Store.  This is going to be a game changer for all the mobile phone manufacturers.  On day one, there are around 500 iPhone apps, many of them free.  It's only day one folks.

I recall the release of Tiger and Dashboard Widgets.  No one really thought it would take off and there were only a handful of Widgets to download.  Today there are 3737 Widgets and in Leopard users can create their own.

Just you wait.  It's just getting started and wait and see until WiMax is built into the iPhone  and iPod Touch.
