Reports are coming out that the latest release of QuickTime is causing problems for Mac users, specifically those that are using OS X 10.5 also known as Leopard. I haven't read of any Tiger users being affected by the updates.
I say it over and over again; if your machine is running fine, hold off on the updates until all the bugs are worked out. Down time is bad time.
