Well, Apple as expected released their sub-notebook dubbed "MacBook Air" yesterday. It's a very impressive looking laptop. I can't wait to go to the Apple Store and play with one. I'd classify it as a "Road Warrior" machine. It's light enough an powerful enough to satisfy anyone that's on the go a lot.
I was expecting an Airport update, but not what was released. It's a great idea, but I don't agree with the statement of never having to back-up to a disc (CD-ROM or DVD) again. The fact is that disk drives fail, it's inevitable. Anything that's precious or important should be backed-up to a disc.
As for what I was expecting, it was an update to the Airport Express. I was expecting an upgrade to "N" speeds, it still delivers "G" speeds at the moment. I would be more likely to upgrade to the latest Airport Extreme if I could get an Express model running at "N" speeds for use as a WDS bridge.
The software updates for QuickTime, iTunes and the iPhone were also expected.
Before summer, I would expect to see updates to the iMac and the MacBook and MacBook Pro lines with the new Intel processors as well as newer LCD technologies.
