MacBook Pros running out | New iPod shuffle | HD-DVD no more

That means only one thing, there's new MacBook Pro models on the horizon.  New processors and hopefully the new back-lit LED technology for the 17" model.  The touchpad technology that's integrated into the new MacBook Air may also be part of this update.

A new iPod shuffle model was released this week with a capacity of 2GB.  The new price structure is $49.00 for the 1GB model and $69.00 for the 2GB model.

As expected, HD-DVD is going the way of the dodo bird.  This format had its advantages, but the Blu-Ray consortium managed to persuade enough distributors to back its format so HD-DVD will no longer be a consumer format.  We still might see it as a professional format though, just like Betamax did.
