Shortly after I posted "Why everyone should use Gmail", Gmail went down for an hour or so and there was a lot of hoopla about it on the web.
The fact is that technology doesn't always work the way we expect it to. Up until yesterday I had never experienced problems with Gmail. I can live without email for an hour, although enterprise users may have been in a panic for that hour.
I still stand by my Gmail recommendation.
