Final Cut Express 4 released

Apple released Final Cut Express 4 today with a price reduction of $100.00 now costing $199.00.

For those out there that don't find iMovie entirely satisfying, upgrading to FCE4 is a great option at a great price.  FCE4 now supports the AVCHD CODEC found in many hi-end consumer and pro-sumer video cameras by Panasonic and Sony which records video onto solid state memory chips instead of tape at 1080i and 720p.

It also supports SD video (NTSC and PAL) as well as mixed formats on the same timeline.

All the details can be found on Apple's FCE4 web page.

HD editing for $199.00 is a fantastic deal.
