Yup, AT&T announced the iPhone 3GS will now sell for $49.00. I imagine that this is an attempt to sell off all of their existing stock of the phone.
It's also rumored that Verizon will have their iPhone in February of this year, or at least it will be announced then.
From what I've been told, Verizon's service handles voice and data on separate frequencies or channels while AT&T''s network pushes voice and data on the same channel or frequency.
There should be a noticeable difference in data speed between both service providers. Now if I could just get better Verizon service in my neighborhood...
